An International Disability Alliance analysis of CRPD General Comment No. 11 on political participation, with a practical advocacy toolkit for Organisations of Persons with Disabilities. It explains what the General Comment requires on legal capacity, accessible elections, ballot secrecy, standing for office and public consultation. It also sets out how OPDs should be led, funded and protected as independent representative bodies. Eight tools help OPDs agree priorities, write requests to governments and funders, check consultations, audit elections, make complaints and measure their influence.
